mom fashion faux pas: are you guilty?
Here I was, minding my own business, when I stumbled upon (and was horrified by) a post over at Cafe Mom called 8 Things Moms Need to Toss From Their Closets if They Want to Feel Sexy. And when I say horrified, it's because it's obvious that the writer, the fashionable (and funny) Mary Fischer must have broken into my closet to find inspiration for the post, because I'm so ridiculously guilty of many of these fashion faux pas.
Here are a few examples of items you should not have in your closet (yet I still do).
• Dress from your bridal shower CHECK! Yes, it was ten years ago but it's a classic dress (or so I tell myself). And so what if it's four sizes too small -- it's motivation, right?
• "Mom" cardigan CHECK! Although, in my defense, it was bought by a family member and I feel terrible getting rid of it.
• Baggy sweats CHECK! (But you can throw them away over my dead body)
• Granny panties Umm, errr, CHECK Okay, she's right. I'll get rid of them... later. Someday.
If I dug in a little further, I'd probably find some of the other fashion "don'ts" mentioned. But a girl can only take so much humiliation for one day.
What do you think are common fashion mistakes moms make?
