welcome to the change challenge

Several months ago, our Friend of Ricki Heather Frey (AKA Smashfit) brought her idea of The Change Challenge to one of our live production meetings. We loved the idea of helping all of our Friends of Ricki reach their health and fitness goals and learn tools to continue positive habits that will last a lifetime.

Don’t focus on the scale, focus on what you need to DO.

There probably isn't a person alive who doesn't want super fitness, health, and lets face it, a super bod. But to focus on just weight loss misses the big picture, YOUR big picture. You don't just want to lose weight, you want a tight, healthy, lean body and that takes some strategy and push. Just losing weight doesn't necessarily teach you how to eat or move and without knowing that, you won't be able to sustain, or maintain your weight loss in the long run. To tighten your body, you have to CHANGE, and not just change what you eat, but when you eat, how much you eat, and how you eat. You'll have to break up with your old habits and start a fresh relationship with food, with brand NEW habits. These habits won’t keep you stuck, they’ll lift you up and OUT of this place you’re tired of sitting in. They are your ladder to body freedom.

Hard? It's not that hard. Every successful human has started exactly where you are... the beginning. But the beginning is only temporary. Once you start, the momentum of your changes takes on an energy all their own. The initial mind shift is hard, but once you get rolling it gets easier and easier until what didn't make sense will, what seemed difficult won't be, and what seemed impossible now isn't. You'll begin to not just look better, which is often our first motivation, but you’ll feel better in ways you couldn’t have imagined. And the bonus? CONFIDENCE Picture your life without the worry of what you're going to eat, what you’re going to wear, or whether you’ll have enough energy to play with your kids? Imagine being free of food GUILT...forever.

Don't focus on the scale, focus on what you need to DO. Scales are insensitive and don't tell your whole picture. They don't tell you how much of you is lean muscle, that your clothes are looser and you look great in your jeans. Scales are only one view of your whole change and if not used wisely it can be demotivating and knock you off your fitness horse and then you'll never get "there."

Losing weight is a function of burning more calories than you consume but you need to eliminate the wrong foods and add the right ones. You also need to think nutrients, not calories, and you need to move with purpose and consistency to truly create a strong healthy body.

Eat well and move with purpose and you won’t need to think about “losing weight”, the weight will come off all by itself. And best of all, you will have changed in ways you never could have imagined. You will have proven to yourself 'you can" and you’re worth it.
