Meet women who are struggling with the transition back to civilian life.

First, Lidia served in the US Navy for eight years. But nine months ago, she found herself without a job and struggling to survive on the streets of Los Angeles. It was only recently that Lidia was able to move into an apartment. She allowed The Ricki Lake Show cameras to capture a day in her life. Click on the video to the left to see her emotional story. Then, meet Marlene, a veteran who was in Iraq for just over two months when tragedy struck. August 14, 2006 is a day she'll never forget. After years of working tirelessly to regain physical and emotional strength, Marlene discovered the Dive Pirates—an organization that supports, trains, equips, and provides dive travel to individuals with disabilities through Adaptive Scuba Diving. Marlene invites Ricki to join her for an experience of a lifetime.
