About: The Los Angeles area Meetup is based in Manhattan Beach and offers parents a chance to meet face-to-face and be part of a community that focuses on building better kids, better lives, and having fun!

"I'm so excited to be coordinating the first Meetup for Friends of Ricki in the Los Angeles area this month."
A Few Words from Group Leader Sandy: I had been noticing the "stand out" online presence of a new group called Friends of Ricki and began to look forward to the daily conversations on Twitter and Facebook. I followed Friends of Ricki and The Ricki Lake Show and soon jumped in and participated in fun and inspiring conversation.
I came to learn that Friends of Ricki/The Ricki Lake Show team were gearing up for the September premiere by building their community through engaging in interesting, thoughtful and timely conversation. Usually producers are a bit shut off from the public but Friends of Ricki/ Ricki Lake Show offered a new unconventional and unprecedented access to the producers who really wanted to listen and chat online.
That made me want to support their efforts and I asked "How can I help spread the word about the show?!" I was contacted by the team and now coordinating the LA Friends of Ricki: Parenting monthly Meetups.
Our groups will be an extension of the show, creating real friendships online and off, where Friends of Ricki can share their experiences with the show, producers and the community. I'm looking forward to meeting other moms in my area to chat about important topics in our lives such as parenting, life, relationships, wellness, fitness and even pets! We'll also plan local excursions or "girls night out" events, anything our group is interested in.
What's cool about Friends of Ricki Meetups is that each city's groups will be unique to their area. It's been such a pleasure being part of this online community, making it come alive -- IRL (in real life) will only make it more valuable. I look forward to sharing our LA Meetup group experiences and building our own LA Friends of Ricki group!
